Manitou Group chooses Reflex WMS to support its international expansion

Manitou Group has opted to implement Reflex WMS at four spare parts logistics centers: in France, Italy, India, and the United States. Alongside the warehouse management system, the firm is also deploying the Infor M3 ERP system. The roll-out will help the French manufacturer set new service standards for its worldwide customers.

Grenoble, February 8, 2024 – Reflex (Hardis Group business unit), a leading provider of logistics execution software, announces the latest developments in the implementation of its warehouse management system at Manitou Group’s spare parts logistics centers. Having already deployed the WMS in France, Italy, and India, the French company is now rolling out the software in the United States, drawing on Hardis Group’s global and local support capabilities across all three continents.

Manitou Group designs, produces, distributes, and services equipment for the handling, aerial work platform, and earth moving sectors for the construction, agriculture, and industries markets through its two flagship brands: Manitou and Gehl. The French firm posted revenue of €2.9 billion in 2023, with 80% of sales outside France, and employs 5,500 people.

Deploying an ERP system and a WMS simultaneously

Manitou Group operates ten production sites and eight logistics centers around the world. In 2016, the company decided to modernize and streamline its information system to make it easier to maintain and upgrade, selecting Reflex WMS Web and the Infor M3 ERP system as part of its new group-wide core model.

“Reflex WMS supports several languages—a critical feature for multi-country deployment,” said Emmanuel Bonnard, IT Director, Digital Applications & Services for Customers, at Manitou Group. “Hardis Group has the capability to help us roll out the application, as well as provide support across different local and international time zones.”

Flexibility and integration with other core-model applications

Manitou Group opted to implement Reflex WMS at its four biggest spare parts logistics centers, located in France (34,000 sq. m; 80,000 items), Italy (3,000 sq. m), India (8,300 sq. m), and the United States (16,700 sq. m). Following successful deployments in France and Italy (2020), and in India (2022), the manufacturer is currently rolling out the application at its warehouse in Belvidere, Illinois, and is targeting a go-live date of Q4 2024. “Although we’ve defined a group-wide core model to speed up the deployment process, Reflex is flexible enough to be adapted to each warehouse’s specific requirements,” said Bonnard.

The warehouse management system is interfaced with the full range of software and equipment installed in the four warehouses, including the Infor M3 ERP system, transportation management applications, conveyors, and more. “Since April 2022, at our warehouse in Ancenis, France, the WMS has been plugged into a brand-new pick & store system, which automatically moves spare parts to the correct storage location,” said Bonnard.

Fast delivery guarantee

Manitou Group guarantees fast delivery of spare parts to customers all over the world through its “overnight” service: customers who order before 5pm could potentially receive their delivery the following morning. “Reflex is an essential link in the chain that allows us to provide an exceptionally high level of service to our customers, and helps us deliver their orders on time—often in less than 24 hours,” said Bonnard.
