Reflex WMS embeds Scandit’s smart barcode data capture technology

  • Scandit’s technology, now incorporated into Reflex WMS, combines artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality for automated verification of pallets, boxes, and products during incoming delivery, in storage, and post-picking prior to shipment or handover.
  • The system, which is installed on logistics operators’ PDAs, can scan and interpret multiple barcodes at once. The information is then sent to the warehouse management system for real-time control.
  • The technology has a range of use cases in logistics. The first pilot projects carried out show immediate productivity gains of up to 40%, reduced errors, and improved working conditions for logistics operators.

Grenoble, February 19, 2025 – Reflex, a Hardis Group business unit and a leading provider of supply chain software, announces that its Reflex WMS warehouse management software now incorporates Scandit’s technology. With this integration, barcode data on pallets, boxes, and products can be captured and interpreted more easily, quickly, and reliably.

A forward-thinking solution combining ease and performance

Logistics operators use the camera on their on-board terminal to capture a group of pallets, boxes, or products. Scandit’s technology recognises and interprets the data encoded in barcodes of all types: 1D, 2D, QR codes, and more. This data is then forwarded to Reflex WMS, which verifies the information and sends back a response that appears on the terminal’s screen in augmented form. Scandit’s AI-powered engine can read damaged, poorly printed, and partially visible barcodes, as well as those that would be otherwise hard to read because of the angle of view. This innovative technology is compatible with most standard PDA models without the need for additional equipment.

Instant gains for logistics operations

Among the gains highlighted by the first customers to use the solution, three stand out:

Rapid data capture, coupled with the solution’s user-friendly design, delivers near-instant productivity gains of up to 40% for some processes.

Errors are reduced thanks to accurate data capture and the elimination of manual processes—essential for quality-control operations.

Working conditions are improved as a result of streamlined verification tasks and a reduced burden of work on operators.

Numerous logistics use cases

Scandit’s technology, now integrated into Reflex WMS, has multiple practical applications in warehouses, stores and stockrooms, click-and-collect pick-up points, and plants.

Examples include:

  • Incoming goods and shipping: checking that pallets are complete, and that there are no missing or excess boxes or cartons, in just a few seconds.
  • Managing serial numbers and batches, with near-instant recognition of the information displayed on the packaging for each product in a box or carton (applicable to manufacturing, luxury goods, electronics, and many other sectors).
  • Easily identifying customers’ parcels in store stockrooms and at pick-up points.
  • Speeding up the receipt of returns from retail outlets.
  • Streamlining order picking in stores.
