Hardis Group helps Renault Group roll out digital technologies along its supply chain

Renault Group is gradually rolling out the Reflex WMS warehouse management system at its industrial sites as part of its supply chain digital transformation plan. Hardis Group’s software is currently in use at half of the group’s 30-or-so sites around the world.

Grenoble, November 6, 2024 – Reflex (Hardis Group business unit), a leading provider of supply chain software, reports on the latest developments in the rollout of its Reflex WMS warehouse management system within Renault Group. In 2018, Renault Group opted to deploy the application with a view to improving real-time management of its storage areas and resources, enhancing stock reliability and traceability, and automating some of its processes.

Optimizing line-side logistics processes across all plants

Renault Group chose Reflex WMS to optimize line-side logistics processes at all its industrial sites worldwide as part of a broader supply chain digital transformation plan. The choice of the solution was mainly motivated by its robustness and its ability to manage in real time spaces and resources (operators and products to be supplied line-side). Renault’s supply chain team was also impressed by Hardis Group’s commitment to co-developing sector-specific features for industrial clients, including through twice-yearly meetings of a dedicated “manufacturing club”.

Rolling out Reflex WMS without outside support

Reflex WMS was first deployed at the Maubeuge plant on a pilot basis. Following this successful implementation, the software has gradually been implemented at other industrial sites in Europe, North Africa, and South America. Renault’s supply chain team is now able to roll out Reflex without outside support thanks to the creation of a core model that takes into account the group’s specific logistics requirements, as well as integrations with the manufacturer’s ERP, MES, TMS, and other tools and systems. Reflex is currently used at 14 of Renault Group’s 30-or-so sites around the world.

Key gains since the rollout of Reflex WMS

  • Performance gains of 10–15% in storage area and stock management, as well as improved performance of parts flows
  • Real-time monitoring of data and logistics flows
  • Enhanced traceability at a time when the number of components contained in vehicles is on the rise
  • Reduced carbon footprint: paperless processes and sustainable management of dispatch packaging
  • Less technically complex onboarding of new logistics providers

Continuous updates and innovations

Since 2018, Hardis Group has updated Reflex WMS with new features that adress Renault Group’s specific requirements.

“Hardis Group regularly builds new updates and innovations into its products in order to keep pace with the changing requirements of its customers, both distributors and manufacturers,” said Radouane Maké, Supply Chain Inbound Process Engineering Manager WareHouse and Reflex deployment lead at Renault Group. “For instance, we’re currently testing a new ‘Drop and Swap’ feature at a pilot site in Romania, which aims to improve transport resource usage by limiting driver wait times at plants.”

In the coming months, Renault Group plans to test the Reflex Labor Management System module as it seeks additional logistics performance gains.
